DMC Fiberglass Compounds
Our DMC (Dough Molding Compound) and BMC (Bulk Molding Compound) fiberglass reinforcement fibers are specially sized E-glass chopped strands engineered for rapid dispersion and complete wet-out in thermoset polyester dough mixing systems. The result is a homogeneous compound that flows evenly under compression, filling complex mold geometries while delivering consistent mechanical and electrical insulation properties in the finished part.

What is DMC/BMC?
Dough/Bulk Molding Compound is a ready-to-mold thermoset composite material consisting of glass-fiber reinforcement, unsaturated polyester resin, mineral fillers, initiators, release agents and colorants, mixed to a dough-like consistency. The compound is formed into billets or pre-forms and compression- or transfer-molded at elevated temperature and pressure to produce net-shape parts with outstanding dimensional stability and surface quality.
The choice of glass-fiber reinforcement is critical to compound processability and part performance. Our DMC fibers feature a carefully balanced silane chemistry that enables fast strand opening during mixing without premature filament splitting, preserving effective fiber length in the final compound. This translates directly into improved impact strength and flexural modulus in pressed parts compared to over-chopped or poorly sized alternatives.
We supply DMC-grade chopped strands in 6 mm and 12 mm lengths, covering the full range of part complexity from thin-wall electrical enclosures to thick-section structural automotive brackets.
