E-Glass Chopped Strands
Our E-glass chopped strands are manufactured from high-quality borosilicate E-glass with precisely controlled filament diameters (typically 10–14 µm) and applied with silane-based coupling agents compatible with the most common thermoset resin systems. Available in three standard cut lengths — 6 mm, 12 mm and 24 mm — to suit a wide range of BMC/DMC and short-fiber composite applications.

Product Overview
E-glass chopped strands are the backbone of thermoset short-fiber composite manufacturing. Each strand is a bundle of hundreds of individual E-glass filaments, chopped to a specific length after online sizing application. The silane coupling agent forms a molecular bridge between the inorganic glass surface and the organic polymer matrix, resulting in superior interfacial bonding and, ultimately, improved mechanical properties in the finished part.
The 6 mm cut length is preferred for BMC/DMC compounds where high filler loading demands shorter fibres that distribute uniformly through the dough. The 12 mm grade offers an excellent balance between processability and mechanical performance — it is the most widely used length for general-purpose short-fiber composites, spray-up applications and thermoplastic reinforcement. The 24 mm grade provides maximum fibre-to-matrix load transfer and is favoured for structural BMC and long-fiber injection moulding applications.
Our strands are packed in 25 kg moisture-proof PE bags and can be supplied on pallets for bulk orders. Custom packing sizes available on request.
